I’ve been a math educator for over 29 years and a math tutor for 16 years, working with students across a wide range of ability levels.
I specialize in helping students strengthen foundational skills, close learning gaps, and build confidence in mathematics. My approach focuses on breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps so students understand the reasoning behind the math—not just how to get the answer.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have experience as a MathCounts and Math Olympiad coach, helping students develop strong problem-solving and mathematical reasoning skills. I have also taught SSAT preparation courses and provide support for ACT math preparation.
I hold a B.S. in Education from Eastern Illinois University and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Illinois.
I love helping students build confidence in math and watching their understanding grow over time.
Summer is a wonderful opportunity for students to strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, and prepare for the upcoming school year in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Supportive review and preview sessions that help students feel prepared and confident for the upcoming school year.
A relaxed, no-pressure meeting to discuss goals, answer questions, and determine the best summer fit for your child.
During this relaxed, no-pressure meeting, we’ll take time to get to know one another and talk about your child’s experiences with math, goals for the summer, and any questions or concerns you may have.
Students will complete a brief Skill Snapshot to help me better understand their current strengths, areas for growth, and overall math readiness. This allows me to help guide families toward the summer support option that will be the best fit for their child’s goals and needs.
I work with students in grades 6 through Algebra 2, including middle school math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 support.
Both 1-to-1 tutoring sessions and small group sessions are held online through Lessonspace, an interactive virtual whiteboard platform designed to support collaborative math instruction and problem solving.
During this relaxed, no-pressure meeting, we’ll take time to discuss your child’s experiences with math, goals for the summer, and any questions or concerns you may have. Students will also complete a brief Skill Snapshot to help guide recommendations for the best summer support option.
Not at all! Summer sessions are designed to support a wide range of learners. Some students need help strengthening foundational skills or rebuilding confidence, while others are looking to stay sharp, preview upcoming concepts, or gain additional challenge before the new school year begins.
Families enrolled in 1-to-1 tutoring will schedule sessions through the TutorBird parent portal based on available openings. Summer session times are offered on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the summer.
Small group session schedules are established in advance and shared with families prior to the start of the program.
That’s exactly what the Consultation & Skill Snapshot is designed to help with! Together, we’ll discuss your child’s goals, current needs, and learning preferences so I can help guide you toward the support option that would be the most beneficial.
Whether students are looking to strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, or prepare for the upcoming school year, summer can be a valuable opportunity for growth.
I look forward to supporting students and families through a positive, encouraging, and confidence-building summer learning experience.
